Two members of Microsoft's Data Center team within the company's
Global Foundation Services organization will be speaking at
industry events in New York City this month to join the
conversation and share how we manage our cloud-scale
operations.
On March 12,
Nic Bustamante, Data Center Operations Engineering Manager will
appear on a panel at the DatacenterDynamics Converged conference
called, "Making the Data Center Talk - Data Center Infrastructure
Management (DCIM) Evolution and Implementation." Bustamante joins
Chris Cosby (CEO, Compass Datacenters) Tamara Budec (VP of Critical
Systems and Engineering from Goldman Sachs), Glen Neville (Director
of Engineering, Deutsche Bank,) and Paul Fox (Executive Director of
Enterprise Data Centers Operations, Morgan Stanley) to explain DCIM
and discuss strategies to drive return on investment in the data
center.
The following
week on Thursday, March 21, Amaya Souarez, Data Center Services
director, will appear on a panel discussing capacity planning at
the GigaOm StructureData conference. The
panel, called "Seeing everything to get ready for anything:
capacity planning at scale" will focus on the challenges and best
practices for data center capacity managers to consider when
planning future infrastructure needs. Others on the panel
include Heather Marquez (Manager of Asset Strategy, Facebook), and
Tamara Budec (Goldman Sachs). The panel will be moderated by Dave
Ohara from GigaOm Research.
