While at the RSA Conference in San Francisco recently, I had the opportunity to talk with Tim Rains, a director in Microsoft’s Trustworthy Computing team, about physical security measures and best practices deployed at our data centers. Security is among the top concerns for customers worldwide and physical security of data centers is a frequent topic. The conversation is featured in a segment on Microsoft’s Trustworthy Computing Cloud Fundamental Video Series and provides insights into Microsoft’s holistic approach to physical security that encompasses increasing levels of security controls from the outside perimeter of our data centers through to increased levels of controls placed closer to data assets based on the value of the assets.
