Microsoft Networking Engineer to Discuss Ethernet Ecosystem Demand from the Cloud

We can all agree that the Cloud is an incredible technology advancement that is driving businesses to reimagine their IT models and spend. As more services, applications, and data move to the cloud, cloud providers will need far more servers and bandwidth. Ethernet is the interconnect in cloud datacenters. Microsoft Contributes Cloud Server Specification to Open Compute Project

Today Microsoft announced that it will be joining the Open Compute Project Foundation (OCP) and will be contributing hardware specifications, design collateral (CAD and Gerber files), and system management source code for Microsoft's cloud server designs. These specifications apply to the server fleet being deployed for Microsoft's largest global cloud services, including Windows Azure, Bing, and Office 365.
